Truss` division has signed a number of “continuity” agreements to ensure the UK can negotiate with third countries on similar terms when the transitional period for Brexit ends on 31 December. The UK officially left the EU on 31 January 2020. Subsequently, the United Kingdom entered a transition period that ends on 31 December 2021. During this period, the UK still has to leave the internal market and customs union, a process that is likely to be more laborious and complex than the original Withdrawal Agreement.
